In the summer of 2000, a family friend set Tommy Jacobsen up with a job at Carson Trailer, Inc.  Tommy started on the sales lot, but after about a year, his passion for the industry landed him a management position.  Seeing Carson Trailer sell thousands of auto hauling trailers, Tommy recognized a gap in the market that he could capitalize on.  So in 2003, Tommy started Empire Accessories to offer trailer parts, service and repair.

Empire Accessories has been at the Pomona Swap Meet for three years now… and it’s a perfect fit.  You can find them on Road 14, Spaces 74, 76 and 78.  We obviously see a LOT of trailers, and Tommy has always been into classic cars.  Tommy says, “I’ve always loved slammed, old Chevy trucks.  I like them low and slow. Fast ones are awesome (too)!”  And Tommy currently owns a 1968 Cadillac DeVille, that he’s customized with House of Kolor paint, Chip Foose wheels, air ride suspension and, of course, a big stereo!  That explains Tommy’s answer to the question Ford or Chevy? “Cadillac!  It’s been the envy of my friends over the past ten years.  Although, I just recently sold two of my old Chevy customs: a 1954 Sedan Delivery and a 1955 210 post wagon.”  Yes, we’re a little jealous too!

So just what does Empire Accessories offer?  Well, they offer complete trailer parts, supplies and accessories for auto, motorcycle and commercial haulers.  Parts include lights and electrical components, axles, brakes, suspensions, jacks, couplers, straps, cargo control, wheels, and tires.  Basically, anything for the chassis, body, or interior of your trailer.  Empire Accessories manufactures many of the parts themselves, or they deal with domestic vendors to get them.  And most of the products are OEM, or have a universal fitment… so they’ll fit almost any manufactured trailer on the market today, regardless of the brand name.  In Pomona, Tommy says his most popular items “are the ones that wear out the fastest: tires, lights, and roof vents.  But, new items are always hitting the market.  If you’re looking for a particular item, just ask.  If we’re not offering it, we’ll do our best to track it down!”

In addition to parts and supplies, Empire Accessories also specializes in designing, fabricating, and repairing custom trailers that meet the specific needs of the individual customer.  They have over fourteen years of custom trailer experience, and Tommy’s goal is to “ensure that your trailer will last for years to come.”

One last item of interest… when asked if Empire Accessories had any swap meet deals or discounts in Pomona, Tommy said, “Always. We are Monty Hall out there: let’s make a deal!  We love to coin flip!”

With that said, if you need any parts or service for your trailer, we recommend visiting Empire Accessories on Road 14, Spaces 74, 76 and 78.  Or send Tommy a message at [email protected].
