Since the 1930’s, panel trucks and Suburbans have been well known for their use as delivery vehicles. They’ve been used to transport everything from hardware, construction materials, food, beverages and produce to vacationing families to their next scenic destination. These functional vehicles have been used as military vehicles, ambulances and hearses, as well as “family taxis”. Regardless of use, it seems these trucks have always had a loyal following; enough so that from 2001-2010 Chrysler sold the PT Cruiser and in 2007 Chevrolet released the HHR, both of which got their design inspiration from the classic panels and Suburbans.  These days, the classic versions are sought after by auto enthusiasts looking to build street rods, show cars and even savvy business owners looking for the perfect, nostalgic advertising vehicle. A group of these enthusiasts, who enjoy using these vehicles for a little cruisin’ and camaraderie, will be attending the August 9, 2015 Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show to show off the panels and Suburbans that they’re so passionate about. They’ll be parked on the Main Aisle in the Classic Car Corral. Come out and visit with this nice group of people and see an array of panels and suburbans, which will surely bring back plenty of fond memories.
