It\u2019s estimated that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer can have a profound and lasting impact on both the patient and her loved ones, but this is a disease that can be effectively treated through surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How Can You Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Pink Patch Project has a simple goal: increase awareness about the life saving benefits of early detection and intervention in the fight against breast cancer. The Project\u2019s symbol is a bright pink version of the public safety officer\u2019s uniform patch, and each participating agency has specially designed their own patch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Pomona Police Department will be set up on the Main Aisle of<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pomonaswapmeet.com\/event-info\/car-show-hours-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>the Pomona Swap Meet on Sunday, October 15th<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, to sell Pomona Police Pink Patches, pins, t-shirts, and collector coins. The money\u00a0raised from the sale of these Pink Patch Project items will go directly to<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofhope.org\/homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>City of Hope<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for research, treatment, and the education necessary to find a cure for breast cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The 1956 Pontiac Chieftain PD Oldie<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Come support a good cause, and while you&#8217;re here check out the PD Oldie! This 1956 Pontiac Chieftain was purchased by the Pomona Police Officers&#8217; Association about twenty years ago. There&#8217;s very little history on the vehicle, but it&#8217;s thought to have been a Pomona PD Detective Unit at one time. The Police Association has kept the vehicle as stock as possible while converting it into the replica police vehicle that it is today. Outside mirrors and seat belts have been added for safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The numbers 27 and\u00a0104 on the vehicle are in memory for two Pomona Police Officers that were killed in the line of duty. #27 is for Danny Fraembs and #104 is for Shawn Diamond.
