October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we are thrilled to announce that the Pomona Police Department and the Pink Patch Project will be back at&hellip;{"id":12786,"date":"2023-10-03T09:45:11","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T16:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pomonaswapmeet.com\/blog\/?p=12786"},"modified":"2023-10-03T09:45:11","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T16:45:11","slug":"sunday-october-15-support-the-pink-patch-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pomonaswapmeet.com\/blog\/2023\/10\/03\/sunday-october-15-support-the-pink-patch-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday, October 15: Support the Pink Patch Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we are thrilled to announce\u00a0that the Pomona Police Department and <a href=\"https:\/\/pinkpatchproject.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>the Pink Patch Project<\/strong><\/a> will be back at the Pomona Swap Meet on Sunday, October 15th!<\/p>\n<h5>WHAT IS THE PINK PATCH PROJECT?<\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs\u2019 Association and public safety agencies in Los Angeles County and beyond.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These agencies have partnered together to combat breast cancer by raising public awareness about the importance of early detection in the fight against the disease and to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.<\/p>\n<h5>HELP SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER<\/h5>\n<p>The Pink Patch Project has one goal: increase awareness about the life saving benefits of early detection and intervention in the fight against breast cancer. The Project\u2019s symbol is a bright pink version of the public safety officer\u2019s uniform patch, and each participating agency has specially designed their own patch.<\/p>\n<p>The Pomona Police Department will be set up on the Main Aisle of\u00a0<strong>the Pomona Swap Meet on Sunday, October 15th<\/strong>, to sell Pomona Police Pink Patches, pins, t-shirts, key chains, bottle openers, challenge coins, and more! All proceeds raised from the sale of these Pink Patch Project items will benefit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pvhmc.org\/Centers-of-Excellence\/The-Robert-Beverly-Lewis-Family-Cancer-Care-Cent.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for research, treatment, and the education necessary to find a cure for breast cancer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"full-post post\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>We\u2019d like to thank all of the men and women of the Pomona Police Department for their service, and for their dedication to our community!<\/p>\n<p>Can\u2019t make it to Pomona on October 15th?
