What a perfect pairing: \u00a0classic movies with classic cars! \u00a0For an enjoyable evening, check out one of these Pomona Swap Meet recommendations…<\/p>\n
1) Back to the Future<\/em> (1985) – the film that’s now synonymous with the infamous DeLorean DMC-12! \u00a0Starring Christopher Lloyd<\/a> and Michael J. Fox<\/a>, Back to the Future\u00a0<\/em>featured a one-of-a-kind, custom built, time traveling DeLorean that every viewer will remember forever. \u00a0In fact, these days the only reason that we think a DeLorean is still cool is that we hope Marty McFly climbs out when the gull-wing doors open!<\/p>\n 2) Gone in 60 Seconds<\/em> (2000) – this remake starred Nic Cage<\/a> and his favorite lady, Eleanor… a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback! \u00a0In the film, the car was disguised as a Shelby GT500 to add to the allure! \u00a0Eleanor featured a 400 horsepower, 351 Ford V-8 crate engine, and a 4-speed manual transmission. \u00a0Need some movie trivia to wow your friends? \u00a0Well, Eleanor was sold at auction<\/a> for $1M earlier this year. Wow.<\/p>\n 3) Ghostbusters<\/em> (1984) – Who could forget Ecto-1, the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance conversion? \u00a0The film is a classic 80s comedy, with some of the biggest players ever… Bill Murray<\/a>, Dan Aykroyd<\/a>, and Sigourney Weaver<\/a>. \u00a0The Caddy was famously used to chase ghosts around New York City and it became an iconic symbol of the Ghostbusters franchise. \u00a0What better way to haul your proton packs? \u00a0Unfortunately, Ecto-1 has been left to rot since the 80s, and recently a fan group actually petitioned Sony<\/a> to sell the car to them so that they can restore it to its ghost busting best.<\/p>\n 4) Le Mans<\/em>\u00a0(1971) – one of the most well known auto racing movies of all time. \u00a0Starring Steve McQueen<\/a> (the king of cool!), the film featured actual footage from the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in June 1970, as well as two classic cars: \u00a0a Porsche 917 and\u00a0a Ferrari 512.
