We’re excited to tell you about a new vendor to the Pomona Swap Meet and Classic Car Show, Hubbard’s Impala Parts<\/a><\/strong>. Hubbard’s is coming all the way from North Carolina to\u00a0the Pomona Swap Meet on August 9th… and if you’re working on a classic Impala or other full-size Chevy, you’re going to want to pay attention! Hubbard’s has an extensive selection of replacement and reproduction parts, and they’re planning to bring a lot of new old stock (“NOS”) inventory\u00a0with them to Pomona. On August 9th, you’ll be able to find Hubbard’s on<\/span> Road 16, Spaces 33, 35, 37, and 39<\/a><\/strong>. But, we wanted to learn a little more about Hubbard’s so we went to the man himself, James Hubbard, owner and president of Hubbard’s Impala Parts.<\/span><\/p>\n

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF\u2026<\/h4>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0When and how did you get started in this industry?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0I’ve worked on cars all of my life, and started working at Ausley’s Chevelle Parts<\/a><\/strong> in the ’80s.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0What’s the best part of your job?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0I get to do something I love daily!<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Have you always been interested in classic cars?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Yes, I had a few Mopars in high school.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Do you currently own a classic car?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0I’m currently working on a 1963 Impala SS, when I have time. It was recently painted and we’re in the process of putting a 502\/502 in it, with a 5 speed Tremec Transmission<\/a><\/strong> and a 12 bolt Chevy rear end. The interior is stock ’63 in the ’62 bright red. I can’t wait to get this car on the road!<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0If you won the lottery tonight, what’s the first classic car you would buy?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0A 1961 Impala 2 door hardtop, SS.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Any favorite memories of the Pomona Swap Meet that you could share with us?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0I did Pomona once in the ’80s. All I remember is having to wake up at 5am to start selling parts!<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0How long has your company been in business? Tell us about its history.<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0We’re currently celebrating our 25th year in business! It all started when I realized that there was only a handful of products and parts dealers for full-size Chevrolet cars. I started selling weather stripping out of my van. I went to as many car shows as possible, trying to start my company from the ground up. I started buying new old stock parts from closing dealerships, and I started reselling those as well. Soon, manufacturers started realizing that there was a market for Impala parts and they began production of more parts. With the wave of new parts being offered, Hubbard’s Impala Parts began to grow. My van was retired as a “warehouse,” and the business was moved into my backyard garage. But, the business quickly outgrew the garage. We moved to a warehouse in Burlington, N.C. In just a short amount of time, our inventory had grown from just weather stripping to emblems, sheet metal, interior parts, and just about anything you can think of for Chevy Impalas!<\/span><\/p>\n

\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a01958-1976 full-size Chevy parts. Reproduction and NOS.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0 Hubbard’s focus on full-size Chevy models assures you that your car will get the attention it deserves. We have the largest selection and best prices in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0We’re a small, family owned business with great customer service and technical skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0We got our NOS inventory from closing dealerships, private collections, and swap meets.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0What’s “in” right now? Any particular makes or models that you notice people are always shopping for?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The 1962 Bel Air “Bubbletop” is always hot. Also, the 1967 and 1959s are going strong.<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Any new or different product offerings that we should know about?<\/span>

\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Pomona is a legendary swap meet and car show. There’s no way to be into cars and never have heard of Pomona!<\/span><\/p>\n

PSM:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Why are you coming to Pomona now?<\/span>
\n JH:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is not our usual car show run. We’re bringing a trailer packed with NOS parts to offer to our friends on the West Coast.<\/strong> We’re doing pre-sales for reproduction parts, and we’ll have our retail catalog on hand.<\/span><\/p>\n
