This article will apply to most early Fords, but we’re working specifically on a 1936 Ford. We’ll also be replacing the rear most hood bumpers\u00a0as part of the job.<\/span><\/p>\n

Below you’ll see the existing hood bumpers. Some are missing and others are hard as a rock. We begin the removal process. Some of the bumpers come out easily by hand, while others need a little help. For the stubborn ones, we use a plastic pry tool, being careful not to damage the paint.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, we install the new hood bumpers. It’s like installing a grommet. I slide one side into the hole and then rotate it until the lip is completely caught.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now onto the cowl lacing.\u00a0<\/span>The existing lacing is in bad shape. We’ll start by removing it.<\/span><\/p>\n

We used the original lacing as a template to transfer and mark the spacing of the holes onto the new lacing. You’ll need a hammer and a hole punch to make the holes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
