1950 Merc:

Fuel system:

Added another fuel filter, etched out fuel tank, cleaned all lines

Engine:   Says all good for the 255 Flathead (around 200K total miles) New Rebuild 1 Year ago about 200 Miles.

Tranny:   Installed new clutch, fixed The shifters (three on the tree) they were worn and loose, sometimes stuck between gears

Cooling:   New AL radiator (3 core), the old original 4 core was cracked and un repairable. Water pumps are fine. These old flatheads have 2 water pumps one for each bank of cylinders and the 255 (Merc) flathead uses different water pumps than the std ford 235 flatty. They are expensive and hard to find.

Electrical:   New battery, fixing the temp gauge (the car is converted from 6 V Positive ground to 12 V negative ground)

Ignition:   Fixed the Mallory pointless distributor. (So you never deal with Points and condenser) .

 

The Car: Mod's

Suspension:

Lowered in front with reverse spindles, Rear with a single leaf spring and spacers. It will barely go over speed bumps. The front fenders need to be rolled or trimmed to allow lock to lock movement with suspension travel.

Tires:

Good to go, 4” wide white walls, new. I had the car up on jacks for 10 years so they are not flat spotted

Exhaust:

3" Exhaust. True 1950’s would be 2: exhaust, they are a little low when you go up a ramp, or on a truck, might want to angle cut them.

Flame throwers:

Old school, two coils mounted under the rear bumper, spark plug in each exhaust at the 3” tips. Switch under the dash. To operate, rev engine, pull switch and pump the gas, The switch cuts OFF the Ignition coil and lights off the exhaust coils

Engine:

Installed off intake manifold with a 350CFM Holley 4BBL. Replumbed exhaust breather bak into intake this stops the exhaust breather overboard. 

Tranny:

Rebuilt newer tranny, have the original still. The car has an electric overdrive.

New master cylinder (One, no dual circuit safety like new cars). New wheel cylinders, new brake pads all around. 

Steering:

No mod’s no power, just a big ass wheel to turn.

Stereo:

10 disk CD changer in trunk with remote in glovebox, speakers on rear deck

Fender skirts:

In the back deck, easy to install

All mod’s have instructions in binders

Exterior Trim:

The big 21 foot long mid band trim is not on the car, it’s in a tube, If you get it painted you can put on perfect trim with no dents Trim clips also in box.

Interior:

All interior trim is in boxes ready for a new interior.
