1956 Dodge C3-B8-116 ½ Pickup
This is the best series Dodge pickup in my opinion! I have a beautiful 1956 Dodge truck for sale. These are rare with a wraparound windshield & butterfly split hood!
Small block V-8 5.2L
The entire body from front to back is straight. The entire truck is unbelievably solid!
Frame is in great shape.
Cab corners are in awesome condition.
Very minimal surface rust on the passenger side floor.
All glass in great shape.
Doors close and latch like a tank.
Dashboard lights work. All gauges work except for the temp gauge which works sometimes. When it is working, temp is normal.
Headlights, parking lights, brake lights, signals all work.
Bed is original.
Original 12V generator from the factory.
Bench seat is in good shape.
Paint appears to be not the original color. Overall the paint is in good condition and there are some areas where it’s flaking and you can see a light blue color.
It’s got a really cool handbrake that locks the rear diff!
Latch under dashboard for outside vent opens and closes properly.
Same key for door locks and gas cap.
All original except the engine.
Prior owner said the guy before him swapped out the motor. Perhaps I’m wrong but according to what I’ve read, I strongly believe it is a 318ci because of a few items. First, there are receipts in the car from 1981 showing 318 in the engine size field. Second, a 1956 C3 series truck came with 269ci Poly. The 318 came out in 1957. Lastly, the distributor is behind the engine located in the back next to the firewall. If I’m wrong, please correct me.
It’s a 4-speed on the floor with 1 st gear being a granny gear. I always start out in 2 nd . I’ve only driven her in town but I can tell its geared high. Drives, shifts, stops very well, sounds great and, has a slight rumble. Could be louder with the right muffler and maybe some headers! The reason I’m selling her is because I just purchased a 1954 Chevy truck and need the money for that project.
If you live in Southern California or anywhere for that matter and can meet up, please come by and take her for a spin. You won’t be disappointed. Comes with a Clean California title. Frame number matches serial number on VIN tag located on the drivers side of the cowl just below the drip rail for the hood. She was built in Detroit with Serial number 84284327.
If you’re wondering, C3-B8-116 =
C3 series (1955 Second Series to 1956)
B stands for ½ ton & 8 stands for V8
116” wheelbase. It’s considered a long bed. Inside bed dimension is 7.5’ x 4’.
Odometer does not work. True mileage unknown
Surface rust on headliner area
Wipers don’t work
She leaks a little oil but what old girl doesn’t
Horn does not work
High beams don’t work. I think it’s as simple as replacing the switch.
Cigarette lighter does not work.
As mentioned above, minimal surface rust on passenger side floor
Paint is not perfect. Tiny scuffs and negligible surface rust.
Bottom portion of rubber around rear window.
Gas tank cleaning
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
Inspected all drums, brake shoes, hardware, lube and adjust
Replaced brake hoses
Replaced brake fluid twice
Changed oil and filter
Replaced fuel tank filler hose
Brand new tires
Truck is SOLD AS IS WHERE IS, with NO warranty of any kind, either written or implied.
