The classic car market is booming again… which means more and more people are looking for parts to restore or fix up their car.  If you’ve got a stash of old parts collecting cobwebs in your garage, that’s good news!  Need to make some cash to fund your own project? Well, these days you can easily sell your spare auto parts from the comfort of your home.

You may be able to find a niche market if you have access to a lot of one particular part, or a lot of parts from one particular car make. Maybe your weird Uncle Jerry had a large collection of side mirrors, bless his soul.  Hey, he was pretty and enjoyed looking at himself. Who can blame him?  But, now that collection has ended up in your garage.  Do some research, find out what cars the mirrors belong to, and get going!  Sell them individually, in pairs, or even as a whole collection if you can find a dealer who’s interested.

What?  You don’t want to be known as that “mirror guy?”  Well, now you’ve established yourself as a reliable seller.  With your customer base growing, you can expand into other markets, say gas caps, if you have access to other parts.  With the right game plan, this could easily become a profitable side business for you.

On the other hand, maybe you just have a random collection of parts.  You can still move them out to keep your significant other happy!  With the Pomona Classifieds, you can sell cars or parts for FREE!  We strongly suggest taking one or two good pictures of the parts to upload to our site.  People are drawn to images, not words.  And give a good description of the part and its condition in your ad so that people know exactly what to expect.

Want more exposure for your classified ad?  Use your Facebook account to let your friends (and their friends) know about it.  You can easily post a link to your ad to reach a bigger audience.  Don’t be shy, either.  Ask your friends to share your post on their Facebook pages, particularly if you’re trying to move a big item or a lot of items.  You can also put a link to your ad on our Facebook page… where we have almost 10,000 fans!

Too many parts to list?  Then just list a few at a time… maybe just the parts that are small enough (and light enough) to ship at a more cost effective rate… assuming you’re willing to ship!  If you are, make sure the seller knows that they’ll be responsible for the shipping charges.  Or maybe you would prefer to get rid of the big ticket items?  That works too!  The hardest part is getting started… but what have you got to lose?

And whatever doesn’t sell, well, bring those parts out to our next event… on December 8th!  You could make some extra cash just in time for the holidays.  How happy would that make your better half?!?
