Sometimes it’s good to get out from under the hood and enjoy a little gearhead inspiration. And, for a limited time, you can do just that at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library in Simi Valley, Calif. Yes, you heard that right. A classic Car event at the Reagan Library – where you can now go to learn about and honor one of America’s most influential presidents, and admire finished works of automotive art!

Anyone who appreciates the mystique of classic cars will appreciate Amazing Automobiles: The Ultimate Car Exhibit, running from October 28, 2014 to May 1, 2015 and presented in partnership with the Petersen Automotive Museum. The Petersen, incidentally, is currently undergoing renovations.

Amazing Automobiles will include over 30 of the Petersen Museum’s most stunning and memorable cars, displayed under the wings of Air Force One. Most of the vehicles are from the Petersen’s vault, so they’re not usually on display, and rarely, if ever, have they been seen by regular museum visitors.

The cars are divided into three galleries: Hollywood, Historic, and Heads of State. Each display is a unique and phenomenal glimpse of automotive history.

Some of the cars in the Hollywood Gallery include:

The Heads of State Gallery includes:

  • 1942 Lincoln Limousine used by Presidents Roosevelt and Truman
  • 1938 Packard Super 8 Parade Phaeton used by Juan and Evita Peron
  • Pope John Paul II’s 1998 Cadillac Papal Parade Phaeton

And the Historic Gallery includes:

  • 1981 Gold-Plated DeLorean DMC-12
  • 1913 Mercer Raceabout
  • 1939 Bugatti 57C Atalante
  • 1952 Ferrari 212/215 Inter Spyder

The galleries will be displayed at different times over the next six months so make sure you check the Exhibit’s calendar if there is a particular car you looking forward to!
