Ford recently announced that they had produced their 10 millionth Mustang. Let that sink in for minute. Now, what’s that mean to us? Well, first, we know that vintage Mustangs are among the most popular classic cars to own, particularly because it’s easy to find one in the “entry level” price range. But, it also means that quality Mustang parts are in high demand, and will be for quite some time! And that’s where California Pony Cars comes in. Cal Pony Cars has been making quality Mustang parts since 1982. If you own a Mustang, any year Mustang, you need to stop by their booth on Road 19, Spaces 27 and 29. We recently sat down with Ron Aguilera, Production Manager, to learn a little more about the company…

Pomona Swap Meet:  When and how did you get started in this industry?
Ron Aguilera:  I’ve been in this industry for a little over 18 years now, and I actually got started in the industry by someone recommending me to apply to work at California Pony Cars.

PSM:  What’s the best part of your job?
RA:  Seeing projects being developed and come to life along with customer satisfaction from the projects that I have helped develop with my experience.

PSM:  Have you always been interested in classic cars?
RA:  Yes, since I was young, I’ve always been a car enthusiast. My Dad owned a 1967 Mustang Fastback and I loved it.

PSM:  Do you currently own a classic car?
RA:  Yes, I currently have a red 1967 Mustang Fastback that I’ve had for 5 years now. I have not started modifications yet, but I do plan on getting it up and running very soon.

PSM:  If you won the lottery tonight, what kind of car would you buy?
RA:  I would buy a charcoal 1969 Shelby GT500.

PSM:  Any favorite memories of the Pomona Swap Meet that you would like to share with us?
RA:  Every chance that I get to go to the Pomona Swap Meet, it is always a great time. I love being around all of the classic car enthusiasts and being able to share the same interests. I think that the Pomona Swap Meet is a great place to network with other classic car enthusiasts.

PSM:  How can customers contact you?
RA:  Customers can come to our shop located at 710 East Francis Street in Ontario, Calif., 91761, or shop online at They can also call us at (909) 923-2357.

PSM:  Tell us a little bit about your company and its history.
RA:  California Pony Cars (CPC) was established in 1982 as an American made manufacturer of die-cast, plastic, fiberglass, and metal stamping products for the Mustang reproduction parts industry.

All die-cast and plastic molded parts are made from production tooling and use only the highest grade materials, like the original parts, for a perfect fit. Other short-run manufacturers use the sand cast process where it’s impossible to reproduce the fine details that you, “the restorer”, demand in quality reproduction parts. We’re proud to make products that allow our customers the opportunity to recapture the special feelings of a time long past. Mustangs remind us of a time when the U.S. was innocent, open, and the future was unlimited!

When you buy CPC products, you can be sure you are receiving the highest quality products and that you are dealing with a company whose reputation for dependability, fairness, and customer satisfaction has helped CPC to become a leader in the industry. We are very proud of our company’s reputation for quality and customer service.

CPC has been a key “behind the scene” figure in the Mustang reproduction parts industry for over 35 years. We do not market our products through any other brand name nor are we affiliated in any way with any other wholesale or retail distributor. All our premium quality products can be found at your local Mustang parts and restoration stores. Ask for us by name – “CPC Premium Quality Parts”!

PSM:  How long have you been coming to Pomona?
RA:  California Pony Cars has been coming to Pomona for over 30 years. Our company started off making parts for the people and the vendors that would attend the swap meet.

PSM:  Do you offer all of your products at the swap meet?
RA:  Yes, we do.

PSM:  Can people order parts ahead of time and pick them up at the swap meet?
RA:  Yes, that option is always available.

PSM:  Have you seen any trends with Mustangs? Are people leaning towards original restorations or restomods?
RA:  We still have original restoration needs, but we have noticed that restomods are becoming more popular.

PSM:  Do you do restorations and/or installations for the parts that you sell?
RA:  No, we don’t.

PSM:  Any new products or offerings that we should know about? Any changes on the horizon?
RA:  Stay tuned for the new products that we have coming out! We have new additions to our Transmission Shift Lever Product Line and also restomod style gas caps for most classic Mustangs.

PSM:  Anything else customers should know about you or your products?
RA:  California Pony Cars offers premium quality and Official Ford Licensed Restoration Products that are made in the U.S.A. We’re always developing new products to fill the needs of the Mustang enthusiast and also offers the best lifetime warranty in the industry.
