We always love it when the Just Cruzin So Cal VW Club rolls into Pomona! We featured the Club at our October 2019 show, and they brought out some awesome VWs. If you’re into the aircooled scene as much as we are, you’re going to want to check out these pictures!

Let’s start with Harold Sosa’s 1962 VW Beetle Convertible. Harold has had this car for almost half his life. This Bug has a new interior and a new Pro-Street transmission, but all of the metal is original. It also has alloy wheels and a lot of rare accessories, and the paint was done by Buddy Hale of Type One Restorations in Tempe, Ariz. We want to give a special thanks to Harold for organizing the club outing to Pomona!

This beautiful 1967 VW Bus is owned by Mario Perez. It was a rusty shell when Mario bought it, but it has come a long way! Now it’s a family car and it gets driven to the beach, for camping trips, to car shows, and just out for a Sunday drive.

Juan Olivas brought out his ’64 VW Beetle. Juan has had this Type 1 for about ten years. It’s all original except for its air ride suspension.

Carlos Arellano is the third owner of this 1960 Beetle. He’s only had the car for a couple of months, but it’s 70% original. Carlos added the 1″ white wall tires.

Carlos also brought out this wicked 1962 11 Window Kombi. You know we’re suckers for those safari windows! Carlos has had this Type 2 for five years and he says it’s great for camping with his ’69 Eriba Puck travel trailer!

This 1965 Bus is owned by Gary Day. It features a custom wood interior, air ride suspension, and a newer motor and transmission. It also has a convertible sofa bed, which comes in handy for, you guessed it, camping!

Tom Day’s ’65 Bug is always a work in progress. This Bug is also Tom’s first car. Tom and his dad fixed the Bug up, and now it’s Tom’s daily driver!

I know what you’re thinking… finally a Type 3! This 1964 Nocthback belongs to Fernando Nuno. It’s a little rough around the edges, but Fernando has had it for going on nine years and he drives it everywhere!

Meanwhile, you can’t miss Wayne Holloway’s 1956 Bug with its custom Jolly Rancher green paint! Wayne has completely re-done the whole car from the ground up. This Bug has got power windows, power seats, a new roof rack, and after market wheels. This one is a show stopper!

Jose Ceja rolled in with his 1965 Bug. It has air ride suspension, staggered Foose wheels, a new 1914cc engine, and a custom sound system.

Chris Perez bought this Dodger blue ’65 Bug earlier this year. It’s first major outing was to the El Prado VW Show & Shine in Chino, Calif.  So far Chris has upgraded the wheels and redone the electrical.

Pete Aguilera’s ’66 11 Window Barndoor Bus is also a daily driver. The interior has been redone, and it’s got a new drive train, 1914cc engine, and disc brakes.

Christian Sanchez’s ’63 Barndoor Bus is perfect for camping, and his kids  love to play house in it when it’s parked in the garage. Christian has fixed up the Bus himself, adding disc brakes and a new transmission.

And, finally, this sweet 1967 13 Window Deluxe has been in Danny Perez’s family since 1988. Danny and his dad used to fix up VWs together, and this Bus was purchased by his dad. Since then Danny has got the Bus running strong again, and he uses it as his daily driver. He’s added truck style mirrors and has plans to paint it next year. (We kind of like the way it looks now, but can’t wait to see it painted!)
